Dave,

Another cracker!

The line “Measure against capability, not just targets” reminds me of a British commentator at an Olympic Games. The winner ran a time 2 seconds below her PB, the Brit came in sixth with her all time PB. The commentator said “On the day, which was the better performance?”

Well obviously the winner - they won, which was the goal; but the PB was also a win. Not everyone can win but everyone can strive to beat their PB by never settling for ‘not good enough’.

Ever since then I have set beating my previous best as my goal.
